Best of Texas, Inc. was started in 1987 by Earnest and Sarah Butler in Detroit, Texas. Detroit is a small town of approximately 776 people located half way between Paris, Texas and Clarksville, Texas.  All of the recipes for the products that they produced are still in use today after more than 20 years.  If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.  Each batch of product was put together by hand, from chopping the produce, to filling the jars, to putting on the lids, to labeling and boxing the product in cases, all done by hand.  That’s the way we still do it today.  In 2003, the company was sold to James and Sally Kennedy of Caddo Mills, Texas.  The company was moved to Caddo Mills and they operated the company there until July of 2008.
         
In July of 2008, the company was purchased by Mike and Tracey Loyd of Detroit, Texas.  We bought the very building that the company was started in from Sarah Butler and are back home producing Best Of Texas products just like they were produced in the beginning.  The world is not always as big as it seems to be.  
       
So here we are and here we intend to stay as long as there are people out there who are looking for quality, hand produced, full flavor products.  We hope everyone will try atleast one of our homemade products.  If you enjoy it, tell a friend, if not, tell me.  We plan on being here  for a long time,  serving everyone who has an interest, and never forgetting the secret ingredient, LOVE.
